We are delighted to welcome you to our new edition of our BCP Newsletter 2012. We aim to provide you the latest information about our NEPLAN Power System Engineering Software. Our first issue in 2012 covers a wide range of topics such as our new release NEPLAN 5.5.0, NEPLAN presence on Twitter, NEPLAN Video Tutorials and NEPLAN Training Dates on 2012.

In addition, our NEPLAN user meeting will take place on 31.01.2012 at Mariott Hotel Zurich. We still have places available. Furthermore, we will be present at IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference on 7-10 May in Orlando, Florida.

We are very pleased to tell you that we newly released the NEPLAN Version 5.5.0. with very useful functionalities. NEPLAN 5.5.0 delivers new and enhanced engineering and design software for transmission, distribution, generation, industrial, wind power, gas, water and heating. We have added new elements to SmartGrid such as DC Photovoltaic, DC Battery, DC Fuel Cell, fly wheel and compressed air storage. A new component has been implemented to Common Earthing and Differential Reactor.

We also have improved the NEPLAN Dynamic Simulator. New SmartGrid models have been added and the Simulink interface has been improved. New EMT models are implemented for lines and transformers. NEPLAN simulator has become the 1st choice for reserach projects at universities for transient stability analysis.

The NEPLAN Programming Library (NPL) tool has also been improved. We have added new functions to the NPL Library e.g. to define controller setting, disturbances, plot-outputs, etc. NPL is an extremely powerful tool especially for universities. Plese find more information here.

Furthermore, we have added a financial simulation tool to NEPLAN Asset Management. A new Asset Simulation Module has been released for Power Systems, Gas and Water networks.

NEPLAN Video Tutorials are videos providing quick and easy method to learn a variety of NEPLAN features and capabilities. We offer a large variety of NEPLAN tutorials. We are still working on new tutorials. They will be added to our NEPLAN homepage as they become available. The new training dates for the new released NEPLAN 5.5.0 can now be found here. These courses are an ideal opportunity to get to know the NEPLAN Version 5.5.0 in detail. Due to high demand for training in 2011, we increased the number of our NEPLAN Training Courses in 2012. The trainings will be held 4 timeas a year. The courses will take place 3 times in English, twice in German in 2012. You can find the training dates in the registration form here.
