The
NEPLAN-Toolbox for power systems and the excellent NEPLAN modeling
features for
Wind
Power Systems attracted very big interest - especially among researchers
and wind power planning engineers - at the EWEC in Marseille and PSCE
in Seattle. They attested us to have at the moment with NEPLAN the
most modern power system modeling tool on the market. |

| New Version 5.4.0 now
released |
The new NEPLAN Version 5.4.0 is now released.
With this version we strengthen our market
leader position in "Risk Based Planning". The highlight
is the new NEPLAN Dynamic Simulator.
Many functions included in this new simulator are unique on the market.
Main Functions are:
- Transient Stability (RMS) and Electromagnetic Transient Simulations
(EMT) in DQ0 and ABC mode
- State of the art accurate and fast simulation algorithm
- Large library of predefined controller models (exciters, governors,
etc.)
- Researchers and developers will especially estimate our functions
in Matlab, which makes developing of new models much easier.
- Many new examples for validation have been added (e.g. IEEE
cases, wind power systems, SSR-sub-synchronous resonance, DFIG,
etc.)

leading risk based analysis tool on the market. Therefore we

NEPLAN user meeting |
More than 140 NEPLAN users where
attending our yearly NEPLAN user meeting in Switzerland and
Germany.

| NEPLAN - DACH-CZ |
BCP has been selected by the Swiss,
German, Austrian and Czech electrcical
organizations (VSE, VDN, VSÖ, CSRES) to develop
a new software, which allows on a simple way to calculate the
new standard ("Technical Rules
for the Assessment of Network Disturbances") for
connecting electrical equipment to LV and MV networks. Included
in this new product "NEPLAN-DACH"
are: flicker analysis, motor starting voltage drop, load flow
and short circuit analysis. The product is available directly
at these organizations: VSE, VDN, VSÖ, CSRES.

| New Version 5.3.5
now released |
We have released the new NEPLAN
Version 5.3.5. Although NEPLAN is the market
leader in "Risk Based Planning", we made a
lot o effort to further improve the reliability, reinvestment
and RCM maintenance modules. |

| CIRED in Vienna
21-24 May |
The powerful functionalities in
NEPLAN for distribution networks have been showed at CIRED in
Vienna, e.g. a new module for network restoration and a development
platform (C++ API) for DMS/SCADA integrators. The risk based
reliability and maintenance (RCM) modules for network reinvestment
and reinforcement strategies received high attention by the
visitors. Many visitors where impressed by the tremendous advantages
(showed on real network cases) of risk based planning over the
traditional way of network planning. |

NEPLAN Maintenance
for RCM,CBM, TBM and Reinvestments |
Our new risk-based maintenance scheduling
module ‘NEPLAN-Maintenance’ is now available. The
‘NEPLAN – Maintenance’ module is based on
a condition and importance-based strategy for reinvestment and
maintenance (RCM=Reliability Centered Maintenance).‘NEPLAN
– Maintenance’ is at present the only maintenance
software available on the market, which is completely coupled
with a robust network reliability analyis program.

for FREE |
The
NEPLAN Viewer, which allows to view any NEPLAN project,
is now for FREE for customers with a valid NEPLAN license (one
FREE license per customer).

NEPLAN Viewer Lizenz gibt es jetzt GRATIS für einen
Kunden mit einem gültigem NEPLAN Wartungsvertrag. Aus administrativen
Gründen müssen ABB Kunden den NEPLAN Viewer direkt
bei BCP anfordern. |

now released |
The best NEPLAN ever (Version 5.3.1)
is now released. This version includes many enhancements such
as our outstanding 'Reliability Module' and the following new
modules: 1) NEPLAN-Simpow (dynamic simulation in EMT and RMS
modes and enhanced models for HVDC and FACTS); 2) Arc Flash;
3) CT Evaluation; 4) Thermal Analysis 5) Feeder Reinforcement
6) Time Simulation for Gas Networks. |

Seminar in Beijing 13th September |
BCP and STRI have shown the NEPLAN
/ Simpow integration on 13th September in Beijing. The seminar
was organized by ABB Corporate Research in Beijing. Like in
Bangkok, the attendees where suprised by the functionalities
of the combined package. Examples were shown for reliability
analysis, advancded HVDC modeling, startup-up of large synchronous
machines in EMT mode, switching a simulation between RMS and
EMT mode, subsynchronous resonances, voltage stability, dynamic
simulation of FACTS devices,etc

in America |
The NEPLAN contest, which was launched
by GERS, our representative on the American continent, was a
big success. The winner of the 228 participants was Ing. Andres
Morales Leon. |

Seminar Bangkok |
For the first time BCP and STRI
have shown the NEPLAN / Simpow integration on 17th and 18th
May in Bangkok. During these 2 days 50 people were attending.
Examples were shown for reliability analysis, advancded HVDC
modeling, startup-up of large SM in EMT mode, switching a simulation
between RMS and EMT mode, subsynchronous resonances, data scanning
for designing a PSS, etc
